Abstract

The rapid growth of the information technology (IT) sector has led to a significant increase in sedentary work patterns, contributing to the rising prevalence of lifestyle diseases such as obesity, cardiovascular disorders, diabetes, and musculoskeletal problems among IT professionals. This study explores the role of moderate physical activity in mitigating these health risks by promoting metabolic balance, enhancing cardiovascular fitness, and improving mental well-being. Moderate physical activity, defined as activities that elevate the heart rate to 50-70% of its maximum capacity, has been shown to improve insulin sensitivity, reduce body fat, and lower stress levels. The research highlights that integrating regular moderate exercise into the daily routine of IT professionals can serve as an effective preventive strategy against lifestyle diseases commonly associated with prolonged sitting and high work stress. Emphasis is placed on the feasibility and sustainability of such interventions within the demanding schedules of IT workers. The findings advocate for workplace wellness programs that encourage moderate physical activity, thereby enhancing overall health outcomes and productivity in the IT workforce.
